Seal Beach Pony Divisions Ages indicated are as of January 1, 2011 for Girls and May 1, 2011 for Boys
6U Ages 5-6	Girls Beginning Coach Pitch Baseball.  The focus is on teaching fundamentals. The games are 1 hour long. No standings are kept.  No tryouts required.	Shetland Ages 5-6	Boys Beginning Coach Pitch Baseball. The focus is on teaching fundamentals. The games are 1 hour long. No standings are kept. No tryouts required.
8U Ages 7-8	Girls Player Pitch Softball. The pitcher uses a 11‑inch RIF softball and pitches from a distance of 35 feet. The bases are 55 feet apart. There are no walks and coach pitches after 4 balls. Scores and Standings are kept. Tryouts are required.	Pinto Ages 7-8	Boys Player Pitch Baseball on a similar diamond (bases are 50 feet apart). The pitcher pitches from a distance of 38 feet with a regulation size ball. The Coach pitches after 4 balls. Tryouts and drafts are introduced. Tournament teams (traveling) will be selected at the end of the season. Tryouts are required.
10U Ages 9-10	Girls Player Pitch Softball. The pitcher uses a regulation size (11-inch RIF) softball and pitches from a distance of 35 feet.  The bases are 60 feet apart. Walks and steeling are allowed. Scores and Standings are kept. Tournament teams (traveling) will be selected at the end of the season. Tryouts are required.  Girls must tryout to be eligible to pitch more than one inning per week.	Mustang Ages 9-10	Boys Player Pitch Baseball on a larger diamond (bases are 60 feet apart). The pitcher pitches from a distance of 44 feet.  Games are 1 ½ hours. Leading off and stealing is allowed.  Tournament teams (traveling) will be selected at the end of the season. Tryouts are required.
12U Ages 11-12	Girls Fast Pitch Softball.  All fast pitch softball rules apply, including the use of a regulation size (12-inch RIF) softball from a distance of 40 feet. The bases are 60 feet apart. Scores and Standings are kept. Tournament teams (traveling) will be selected at the end of the season. Tryouts are required. Girls must tryout to be eligible to pitch more than one inning per week.	Bronco Ages 11-12	Boys Player Pitch Baseball on an even larger diamond (bases are 70 feet apart). The pitcher pitches from a distance of 48 feet. Games are 2 hours. All major league rules apply.  Tournament teams (traveling) will be selected at the end of the season.  Tryouts are required.
T-Ball - Ages 3-4  Boys and Girls can play T-Ball.  Players learn the fundamentals of baseball using softer than usual baseballs and use a tee for hitting. Throughout the season, players can progress to coach pitch.  The game is two innings long and all players field and bat. No Scores or Standings are kept. Players are not required to tryout.
